Heyyy! For all use peeps who follow me on Facebook...you may have noticed that I posted a picture of my new hair! After doing so I have had a few requests to do a post about hair extensions so here it goes!
I like many other girls, for years have had that problem of finding a good hair extension that is also thick and believable! Well I have news for you! I have tried lots of different extensions from cheap clip ins to expensive ones, microloops and weaves and I have FINALLY found the one that I cannot live without!
Before that however I have experimented with clip ins and microloops. At the time I loved having microloop extensions however after having them in for nearly a year I got sick of being able to see the small loops when I went to tie my hair up. I also found that after a while my hair would get very matted and I ended up loosing a considerable amount of hair so therefore I decided to opt out and go back to trusty old clip in extensions.
I must admit, I absolutely love clip in's too...If you get good quality ones! I would highly recommend HeadKandy hair extensions. They are super thick, quality hair extensions that come in lots of good shades. I tended to get 3 of the triple wefts or the full head sets to ensure it met with the thickness of my own hair. After a while I decided to get these weaved into my hair and were great for a while however I wouldn't recommend them for long term/everyday wear as they tend to matte and lose the healthy appearance after a while.
Whilst being in Miss Scotland a few of the girls had weaves done. I have been very wary of weaves in the past and was unsure of the safety of my own hair and whether or not I would like the feeling of it. After hearing their positive experiences and seeing the amazing quality of the hair I decided to give it a try! Firstly, as I explained before I got the HeadKandy extensions weaved into my hair but now I get the Virgin Remy extensions supplied by my own hairdresser, OHMG who are based in Glasgow. This salon is a hidden gem! My friends and I agree that it is the best place to get your hair extensions done at such a reasonable price! I cannot recommend them enough and I have never been so happy with my hair! <3 Weave hair extensions can vary in price between £200-£300 but it is absolutely worth it. Onn average they can last anything from 2months to 6months! Just depending on how well you care for the hair and whether or not you may need the (weave tightened which depends on your own hair growth).
Here are a few photographs of my hair before and after!
As you can see my hair is a lot more longer and thicker! The best way to keep it in good condition because it obviously won't get natural oils that your own hair will is by using Moroccan Oil. This keeps it nice and soft and prevents you from getting split ends.
It is also best not to wash your weave every time you wash your own hair as this will dry your weave out and leave it in not so great condition. Therefore wash the top of your hair as required but pin your weave back to stop it from getting wet. Then wash your full head of hair (weave and own hair) every 1-2weeks. If necessary use dry shampoo.
It is also important to pleat your weave when you are going to bed to prevent any tangles or matting.
I hope this has all been helpful for anyone who might be considering a weave!
